Det s\u00e4ger Charlie Weimers, ledamot av Europaparlamentet, som skrivit om rapporten om <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/weimers\/status\/1708764259365109769\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">X<\/a>. Rapporten kommer att presenteras f\u00f6r EU:s medlemsl\u00e4nder och h\u00e4vdar att f\u00f6rbudet mot muntobak har varit mycket framg\u00e5ngsrikt. Den inneh\u00e5ller ocks\u00e5 en rekommendation till EU att ut\u00f6ka f\u00f6rbudet mot oral tobak till att \u00e4ven omfatta nikotinp\u00e5sar. Om EU-kommissionen och medlemsl\u00e4nderna accepterar rapportens rekommendationer kommer nikotinp\u00e5sar inte bara att f\u00f6rbjudas i Europa utan \u00e4ven i Sverige, eftersom Sveriges undantag fr\u00e5n muntobaksf\u00f6rbudet inte g\u00e4ller nikotinp\u00e5sar. Dessa uttalanden utg\u00f6r inte bara en njutning f\u00f6r en livr\u00e4ddande produkt, utan \u00e4r helt ur kontakt med verkligheten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sanningen \u00e4r att snus har varit den fr\u00e4msta framg\u00e5ngsfaktorn i Sveriges inst\u00e4llning till att uppn\u00e5 EU:s m\u00e5l om ett r\u00f6kfritt samh\u00e4lle, definierat som f\u00e4rre \u00e4n 5% r\u00f6kare. Genom att erbjuda ett mindre skadligt alternativ till r\u00f6kning har snus- och nikotinp\u00e5sar varit en avg\u00f6rande komponent f\u00f6r att minska antalet r\u00f6kare och r\u00e4dda liv. Ett f\u00f6rbud mot nikotinp\u00e5sar skulle vara ett allvarligt bakslag i denna anstr\u00e4ngning och undergr\u00e4va v\u00e5ra framsteg mot en r\u00f6kfri framtid. S\u00e4rskilt f\u00f6r Sverige sj\u00e4lvt, som skulle ber\u00f6vas huvudingrediensen i framg\u00e5ngen.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En av de mest oroande konsekvenserna av ett eventuellt f\u00f6rbud mot nikotinp\u00e5sar \u00e4r att kvinnor kommer att drabbas oproportionerligt mycket. Svenska kvinnor tycker inte att snus \u00e4r lika tilltalande som m\u00e4n och har f\u00f6ljaktligen haft h\u00f6gre r\u00f6kfrekvens \u00e4n m\u00e4n, vilket driver Sveriges r\u00f6kning <a href=\"https:\/\/www.folkhalsomyndigheten.se\/livsvillkor-levnadsvanor\/andts\/utveckling-inom-andts-anvandning-och-ohalsa\/anvandning\/anvandning-av-tobaks-och-nikotinprodukter\/vuxnas-bruk-av-tobaks--och-nikotinprodukter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">priser<\/a> f\u00f6re 2016. Sedan introduktionen av nikotinp\u00e5sar har kvinnors r\u00f6kfrekvens sjunkit med 40%. Samtidigt har kvinnors anv\u00e4ndning av nikotinp\u00e5sar \u00f6kat. Genom att inf\u00f6ra ett f\u00f6rbud mot dessa produkter ber\u00f6vas kvinnor ett mindre skadligt alternativ till r\u00f6kning och tvingas i v\u00e4rsta fall tillbaka till alternativ som \u00e4r skadliga f\u00f6r deras h\u00e4lsa och liv.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I kampen f\u00f6r ett r\u00f6kfritt samh\u00e4lle m\u00e5ste Europeiska unionen se mot hur Sverige \u00e4r p\u00e5 v\u00e4g att uppn\u00e5 sin r\u00f6kfria status. Att g\u00f6ra allt annat \u00e4n det skulle vara oetiskt eftersom r\u00f6karnas liv st\u00e5r p\u00e5 spel. \u00c5terigen \u00e4r den h\u00e4r rapporten ett bevis p\u00e5 att det finns m\u00e5nga m\u00e4nniskor kvar som beh\u00f6ver inse potentialen i dessa produkter och l\u00e4gga ideologi bakom dem. Vi m\u00e5ste titta p\u00e5 verkliga exempel och varf\u00f6r de fungerar.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sveriges politiker beh\u00f6ver st\u00e5 i framkant och fr\u00e4mja sin modell i EU. Weimers p\u00e5pekar att den h\u00e4r rapporten sannolikt \u00e4r en provballong fr\u00e5n EU-byr\u00e5kratin, som har f\u00f6r avsikt att testa vattnet. Vi m\u00e5ste h\u00f6ja v\u00e5ra r\u00f6ster och se till att detta inte g\u00e5r ohotat.
